Little is known about this obscure Midwestern company except that it was founded by Andrew J. Pierce who was a former engine superintendent at the well-known Racine Hardware Company, which built power plants for a variety of industrial and farming applications.

Mr. Pierce's first vehicle, aptly called the Model A, was built in 1904 and had a single-cylinder engine. By 1905, Pierce Racine was building a two-cylinder vehicle and in 1906 two different four-cylinder vehicles were produced. Sales in 1904 and 1905 combined totaled only 150 units, and 1906 saw only an additional 90 vehicles built and sold.

The new company was refinanced with the help of Racine area businessmen including some who were prominent stockholders in the Case Company and other farm equipment manufacturers.

The treasurer of the Case Company, Charles McIntosh, became the new president of the Pierce Motor Company but died in April 1910. Sales of the Pierce continued to dwindle, and by 1911 the assets of Pierce Motor were merged with the Case Company.
