1981 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Series 3C

The 1981 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight was available as a luxury Sedan, Regency Coupe, and a Regency Sedan. In the front, the appearance was similar to the Delta 88, but the grille had two vertical and one horizontal bar on each side, with a recessed eggcrate design. In the back was a small decklid spoiler with taillamps that were much narrower than the Delta 88. The base engine was a 252 cubic-inch overhead valve V6 engine rated at 125 horsepower. An optional 5-liter V8 and a 5.7-liter V8 were available offering 140 and 105 HP respectively. Standard equipment included a four-speed automatic with overdrive, power brakes, power steering, power windows, bumper guards and impact strips, electric clock, remote-control outside mirrors, fender skirts, and dome reading lamp. Other standard equipment included a two-way power seat, belt reveal and roof drip moldings, rocker panel, and wheel opening moldings.

Regency models added an AM/FM stereo radio, opera lamps, digital clock, and divided front seat with twin controls.
