HEAD OF JEEP® BRAND MIKE MANLEY NAMED ‘THE MOST INFLUENTIAL BRITON IN THE MOTOR INDUSTRY'

June 15, 2016 by Jeep

The British-born head of Jeep worldwide, Mike Manley, has been named as 2016's most influential UK executive in the global automotive business.

The accolade, announced today (15 June) by leading weekly motoring magazine Auto Express, recognises the impact Manley has made to the Jeep business, in particular the spectacular sales successes the brand has enjoyed over the past three years.

Sales have multiplied – from 320,000 globally in 2009 to last year's 1.23 million – with a target of nearly two million cars worldwide in two years' time. Manley has also been responsible for the launch of the popular Jeep Renegade across the world, and is finalising plans for the forthcoming C-SUV and Grand Wagoneer.

Now in its fifth year, the 'Brit List' celebrates the 50 most influential UK players in the business, in terms of car choice, manufacturing, design and engineering.

'Our number one Brit for 2016 is a guy who has transformed one of America's greatest brands, quadrupled sales in just six years and set his company on the road to a target of 1.9 million cars sold by 2018,' says Steve Fowler, editor-in-chief, Auto Express.

'There are many outstanding British men and women working in the automotive industry across the world and to be recognized as part of this group is a humbling experience,' says Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand and Ram Brand, FCA – Global.

'I would like to thank Auto Express for the award and also for continuing to highlight the amazing opportunities the automotive industry offers British men and women. I would also want to recognize the outstanding results of the global Jeep team: they are brave enough to see the world differently and determined enough to make their mark. It is a privilege to work with them.'
