1978 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham

There were 36,800 examples of the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Sedan produced in 1978. Power was from a V-8 engine that displaced 425 cubic inches and produced nearly 200 horsepower. Power was sent to the rear wheels via a Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission and disc brakes provided the stopping power.

There were only minor changes over the prior year, such as the front seats which now had seatback pockets. On the exterior of the vehicle, the back bumper and the front grille had been restyled. There was a new wreath-and-crest ornamentation set within brushed chrome moldings. An additional trim level, the Brougham d'Elegance, added unique items to the car such as the 'Brougham d'Elegance' insignia on the glove box door and on the outside. They had contoured pillow-styled seats clothed in special colors, with matching velour trim in the doors.

The Fleetwood Brougham name was a solid nameplate in the Cadillac lineup, first appearing in 1947 and produced through 1996.
