 Fiat Allemano 750 photo

1958 Abarth Allemano 750

Serafino Allemano opened his coachbuilding shop in Turin in 1928; it closed in 1965. Many of his cars were shop designs. Some, however, were from Michelotti or Scaglietti. 1958 was the last year of the Allemano-bodied Fiat 600 chassis Abarths, most of which were 750cc version.

The Fiat/Abarth 750/850 were built atop the floorpan of the Fiat 600 and powered by modified engines by Abarth. Several coachbuilders created various derivations including Zagato, Allemano and others. Serafino Allemano opened his coachbuilding shop in Turin in 1928; it closed in 1965. The 750 first appeared in 1956 and specifications vary. The 633 four-cylinder engine was enlarged to 747cc and many of the components were replaced or modified. These changes brought horsepower from 23 bhp to 44 bhp and gave it a top speed of nearly 100 mph.
