2010 Volvo XC90

XC90 3.2: $37,700
XC90 3.2 R-Design: $39,500
XC90 V8: $47,500
Destination: $850

Volvo's XC90 premium SÚV receives more standard luxury features and increased versatility for 2010. Every model is now equipped with seating for seven, leather trim, a power glass moonroof, rear park assist, third-row climate control and an integrated center booster cushion for the second-row seat. The XC90 is offered in six-cylinder 3.2 and 3.2 R-Design models with a choice of front- or all-wheel drive and the flagship 4.4-liter V8 AWD.

Introduced last year the distinctive R-Design benefits from an array of exclusive exterior and interior styling upgrades for a more sporting look while tuned suspension and steering offer an enhanced driving character. The 3.2 R-Design is fitted with 19-inch 'Vulcanis' diamond-cut alloy wheels, R-Design grille, leather seating surfaces with embossed R-Design logo on the front seats, and R-Design steering wheel, watch dial instruments and floor mats. A new Dynamic Package includes 20-inch 'Cratus' alloy wheels and dual xenon active bending headlights.

2010 Volvo XC90A new Multimedia Package, available on all models, enhances the XC90 with the Dynaudio premium sound system with Dolby Pro-Logic II® Surround Sound, 650-watt amplifier and 12 Dynaudio speakers, Sirius satellite radio and the Volvo Navigation System with remote control and Real Time Traffic.

The XC90 V8 receives an even more impressive roster of luxury features with the addition of standard Sapeli wood inlays, gearshift knob and steering wheel. Also standard are heated front seats, headlamp washers, rainsensor windshield wipers and Interior Air Quality System (IAQS).

Those seeking the ultimate in comfort and luxury can select the XC90 V8's Executive Package. Among the generous list of amenities is Executive soft leather seating surfaces, door panels and center console cover, Executive Classic wood inlays and steering wheel, Executive floor and cargo mats, heated front and rear seats plus ventilated/massage functions for the front seats.

The advanced 3.2-liter in-line six-cylinder engine for the XC90 3.2 and R-Design is a naturally aspirated powerplant that utilizes the latest technology to maintain the same exterior dimension and fuel consumption as a five-cylinder engine. This engine delivers 235 horsepower and 236 lb.-ft. of torque. It achieves performance and economy thanks to Variable Cam Timing (VCT) and Cam Profile Switching (CPS). With CPS, the intake valves can be lifted to different heights depending on engine revs and load - a lower lift for economical driving and a higher one for more power.

The XC90 V8's 4.4-liter 32-valve engine is also naturally aspirated. Fitted with continuously variable intake and exhaust valve timing (CVVT), it develops 311 horsepower and 325 lb.-ft. of torque. All-wheel drive with Instant TractionTM is standard. This traction enhancing system employs computer-controlled Haldex AWD that instantaneously delivers up to 50 percent more torque to the rear axle only when needed, such as during takeoff. A six-speed 'Geartronic' automatic transmission is standard on all XC90s.

Adhering to Volvo's core value of safety, all XC90 models are equipped with Roll Stability Control (RSC), Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC), Side Impact Protection System (SIPS) with side airbags and Inflatable Curtains for all three rows.
