4007 2.2 l HDi FAP DCS 6 115 kW Double the driving pleasure

2010 Peugeot 4007
The 4007 is Peugeot's first compact all-terrain vehicle available in 5 or 7 seat version and is particularly noted for its dynamic attributes, combining efficient and high performance engines with an innovative integral electronic transmission and chassis components worthy of a saloon car.2010 Peugeot 4007
With the launch of a 2.2 l HDi FAP 156 bhp version fitted with a semi-automatic gearbox and a dual clutch, the 4007 demonstrates that it is possible to combine adventure, automation, environmental efficiency and driving enjoyment.

Dual Clutch System (DCS)
To meet the expectations of increasingly demanding customers in terms of versatility and driving pleasure, the 4007 makes use of its new gearbox with cutting-edge technology; the Dual Clutch System.

This technique consists of automating the gear changes on a manual gearbox and using two clutches to transmit the engine torque. The first clutch is located on the even numbered gears and the second clutch is fitted to the odd numbered gears. A fine-tuned electronic management system anticipates the gear changes and hydraulically operates one of the two clutches, which operate in parallel, in a few tenths of a second without a torque converter.

As such, one shaft is always connected and changing from one gear to another takes place in just a few tenths of a second, resulting in exceptionally smooth driving. Gear changing is quick and smooth and there is no interruption in torque.

In short, the Dual Clutch System ensures smooth driving without a clutch pedal while retaining all the dynamism and efficiency of a car equipped with a manual gearbox.

6-speed DCS
The semi-automatic gearbox chosen for the 4007 is equipped with 6 speeds to make best use of the performance from the 2.2 l HDi FAP 115 kW (156 bhp) engine fitted to this version. In the same logic, the choice of wet clutch technology has been favoured to transmit the generous amount of torque produced by this engine (380 Nm at 2000 rpm).

A versatile gearbox, the DCS 6-speed box can be managed in two ways: in automatic mode with two operating programmes (Drive or Sport) or in semi-automatic mode (sequential) by using the gear selection paddles located behind the steering wheel.
So, whenever he likes, the driver can switch from one mode to the other at any time to select the driving mode that suits him best. Driving aids Firstly, the DCS 6 has the advantage of an adaptation program for slopes.

Vital Stats and Specifications

Engine : 2.4 L., 4-cylinder
Power: 168 hp
Torque: 171 ft-lbs

5-speed Manual
The computer (ECÚ) authorises engine braking power according to the contours of the road to augment smooth driving. In the same vein, hill start assistance is fitted to this model. This system, which is derived from the ESP system, automatically slows the car for approximately 2 seconds to assist the vehicle in pulling away.

The assurance of a dynamic and responsible SÚV
The latest generation 2.2 l HDi FAP 115 kW (156 bhp) engine that drives the 4007 in this DCS 6 version is in keeping with a policy of 'down-sizing' and high level environmental performance.

Dual Clutch System technology ensures that these characteristics are retained. Thus, the 4007 2.2 l HDi FAP 115 kW DCS6 displays very favourable results in terms of energy consumption versus performance and services delivered and confirms that it really is possible to combine dynamism and automation with environmental efficiency :
- 7.3 litres/100 km combined cycle
- 192 g/km CO2 combined cycle
An even more attractive design
A distinctive car with feline styling, the 4007 2.2 l HDi FAP 115 kW DCS6 incorporates some elements of style that further enhance the appearance and status of Peugeot's SÚV.

On the inside, an elegant edging trim surrounds the instrument panel visor and the front door strips, while the air conditioning controls sports a chrome trim finish.

The multi-function display, located between the two instrument panel dials has also evolved to offer a new colour graphic interface, made possible by the use of an LCD matrix.
Finally, on the outside the 4007 DCS6 is distinguished by the modification to the exhaust outlet and the presence of a twin tailpipe.

This new model, first presented to the world at the Frankfurt Motor Show, will be launched in 24 countries from September 2009 onwards.
