Model of the Year was introduced at the Glenmoor Gathering
February 17, 2012 by Glenmoor GatheringA 1/43 scale model of a 1938 Packard Twelve convertible Victoria that was introduced at the 2011 Glenmoor Gathering has been selected as the Diecast Zone Model of the Year. The model was produced Automodello. A group of nine scale model enthusiasts constituted the selection panel. According to Diecast Zone, the 1938 Packard is 'a truly brilliant model and the first 1/43 overall winner in our history. This remarkably contoured subject is modeled with incredible technical skill. And the price is just under triple digits—a rare feat anymore for larger scale models' Diecast Zone also commented that 'the win represents something more: how truly important 1/43 is becoming in the hobby, where prices and collection space are both at a premium when it comes to larger scale models.' Automodello will premiere another unique die cast model car at the 2012 Glenmoor Gathering. Watch for an announcement shortly!
