1993 Mazda RX-7

The third generation of the Mazda RX-7 appeared in the spring of 1993. The Wankel 80 cubic-inch rotary engine was fitted with twin turbochargers and air-to-air coolers. With two coaxial three-lobe rotors, this small displacement engine was capable of producing an impressive 255 horsepower. The 2-passenger coupe could race from zero-to-sixty mph in just 4.9 seconds and had a base price of just over $15,000.

In 1993 the Mazda RX-7 was named Motor Trend magazine's Import Car of the Year and one of Car and Driver's Ten Best.
