2003 Cadillac DeVille

2003 CADILLAC DEVILLE CONTINUES THE CADILLAC TRADITION OF INNOVATION

2003 Cadillac DeVille
The DeVille nameplate, steeped in more than 50 years of automotive history, represents Cadillac's rich heritage while serving as a symbol of the division's future. Bold, groundbreaking technologies such as Night Vision, the acclaimed Northstar engine and StabiliTrak have shaped the DeVille's character, and help distinguish the marque from other full-size luxury nameplates. Completely redesigned in 2000, the DeVille's clean, flowing exterior strikes the perfect balance between formal and sporty. Its chiseled, shear lines are distinctly Cadillac, as are cues such as its shield-shaped grille and strong side spline.

2003 Cadillac DeVille
'The DeVille has been one of the best-selling full-size luxury cars in America for years, and the latest generation continues to drive the average age of Cadillac customers down,' said Pat Kemp, DeVille marketing director. 'Traditionally, pre-boomers have represented DeVille's primary customer base, but by 2005, we expect nearly 40 percent of buyers in this segment will be boomers.'

2003 Cadillac DeVilleNew for 2003
For 2003, Michelin all-season performance tires replace Goodyear on the DTS model, the DeVille adds two new exterior colors, the outside rear view mirrors now feature a turn signal indicator, and the taillamps have been redesigned. A fixed shoulder-belt tower replaces the moveable version, and the tire pressure monitor is now standard. The Base DeVille now has standard navigation, as well.

Building on Cadillac's design and technology legacy
The 2003 DeVille reflects the bold spirit of great Cadillacs of the past, while advancing Cadillac's vision of becoming a global leader in automotive design and technology. The DeVille builds on a legacy of design leadership and technological innovation.

DeVille's overall appearance is trim, sleek and cosmopolitan, and when it was first introduced, served as a hint of what was to come from Cadillac design. The DeVille also builds on Cadillac's rich tradition of pioneering technological innovations that offer real customer benefits.

XM Satellite Radio
Debuting in 2002, XM Satellite Radio again will be offered for the 2003 Deville. XM radio features 100 coast-to-coast digital channels, including 71 music channels (more than 30 of them commercial-free) from hip-hop to opera, classical to country, bluegrass to blues and 29 channels of sports, talk, children's and entertainment programming. XM also brings to the car, for the first time on radio, a diverse selection of 24-hour news sources previously available only in the home. And XM's next-generation sound quality technology provides superior sound remarkably close to compact disc. Cadillac was the first automaker to offer XM as factory installed.

Technology
Most notably, DeVille features Night Vision, an important safety advancement. Night Vision is the first automotive application of thermal-imaging technology. It can assist drivers in seeing objects beyond headlight range during nighttime driving.

As a complement to Night Vision, the DeVille offers Últrasonic Rear Parking Assist, a technology that assists the driver in rear parking maneuvers. The DeVille also was the first in the auto industry to feature full-width light-emitting diode (LED) center high mounted stoplamp and taillights, a safety feature that provides quicker 'on-time' performance than incandescent bulbs. Night Vision, LEDs and Últrasonic Rear Parking Assist enhance DeVille's package of world-class active safety and security features. Add to these proven safety-cage construction, leading-edge passive restraints, a CD-based navigation system and OnStar, the revolutionary information and communications service, and the 2003 DeVille could arguably be the safest car on the road.

In addition, StabiliTrak, Cadillac's world-class stability-control system, makes DeVille's handling even more predictable and consistent under all driving conditions and road surfaces. This enhanced version adds both side-slip rate control and active steering- effort compensation. StabiliTrak is standard on DTS and optional on DeVille and DHS.

2003 Cadillac DeVilleIn addition to StabiliTrak, DTS is equipped with the continuously variable road-sensing suspension (CVRSS). This enhanced system adds three significant improvements - transient roll control, lateral support and stability control interaction.
