George Clooney auctions his 2008 Tesla 'Signature 100' Roadster at Gooding & Company's Pebble Beach AuctionsGooding & Company, the official auction house of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, is thrilled to announce that it will present Academy Award-winning actor and philanthropist George Clooney's 2008 Tesla 'Signature 100' Roadster at its Pebble Beach Auction on Sunday, August 19. Mr. Clooney was invited to purchase car number 0008 when Tesla debuted its game-changing Roadster, the world's first high-performance electric sports car. One of the most generous celebrity human rights activists in the world today, Mr. Clooney has selected the Satellite Sentinel Project as the beneficiary of his sale proceeds. Co-founded by Clooney and human rights activist John Prendergast, the Satellite Sentinel Project (SSP) is a non-profit organization that monitors the sensitive borders of Sudan via satellite in an effort to prevent the return of a full-scale civil war between Northern and Southern Sudan.

Tesla made automotive history in 2008 when it launched the innovative Roadster, the world's first high-performance electric sports car. With only 1,700 miles from new, Mr. Clooney's Tesla Roadster, car 0008, is finished in Obsidian Black Metallic over a premium, two-tone leather interior. Clooney has said that his Roadster is thrilling to drive. The Tesla's estimate is $100,000–$125,000.

George Clooney Supports The Satellite Sentinel Project

The SSP is a non-profit organization supported by other non-profits (including Not On Our Watch and the Enough Project), that monitors the sensitive borders of Sudan via satellite in an effort to prevent the return of a full-scale civil war between Northern and Southern Sudan. Part of an early warning system currently in place, the SSP gathers images of aggression and other time-sensitive information and expedites the data to news organizations, peacekeepers and key policymakers. http://www.satellitesentinel.org/

Gooding & Company's 2012 Pebble Beach Auctions will take place on Saturday and Sunday, August 18 & 19 at the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center, located at the corner of Portola Road and Stevenson Drive. Preview days will start on Wednesday, August 15, and continue through Sunday, August 19. The auctions will commence at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Gooding & Company's Pebble Beach Auctions catalogues are available for $100 and admit two to the viewing and the auctions.
