2015 GMC CANYON WITH ONSTAR 4G LTE READY FOR TAILGATE TASKS• Connectivity brings mobile technologies to consumers' favorite tailgating locations

DETROIT – When the 2015 GMC Canyon midsize pickup and other 2015 model year GMC vehicles launch later this year, owners will be able to stay connected like never before with OnStar 4G LTE connectivity.

Innovative features on the Canyon, like OnStar 4G LTE, provide the ability to play games like EA SPORTS Madden NFL 15 online between two stationary vehicles or with others at home, whether tailgating at a stadium this fall or watching the game at the beach.

The 2015 GMC Canyon will come with available OnStar with 4G LTE that features a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot capable of connecting up to seven devices – including a video game console or tablet – in or around the vehicle. It's as easy as connecting to a home Wi-Fi; when the vehicle is on, the hotspot is on. After an initial free trial period, pricing for Onstar's 4G LTE data service starts at just $5 per month for customers who also subscribe to a Safe & Sound or Directions & Connections plan, or $10 for others.

Continuing a partnership created last year, GMC, the Official Vehicle of the NFL, will be prominently featured in EA SPORTS Madden NFL 15 with vehicles and branding appearing during gameplay. For example, after the big game victory, the game's MVP will be awarded a 2015 GMC vehicle. And new in Madden 15 will be GMC Professional Grade Challenge Reviews and GMC Broadcast Elements.

Some of GMC's in-game integration is only available on a gaming console with an internet connection. During the NFL season, GMC selects a weekly 'Never Say Never Moment of the Week.' Each moment will be made available to replay in-game at regular intervals throughout the season. Replays require an Origin Account and account creators must be at least 13 years old.

'GMC customers appreciate excellence. When they do something, they do it well,' said Rich Latek, GMC marketing director. 'With a 4G LTE data connection and the ability to connect up to seven devices, including gaming systems, smartphones, and tablets, GMC owners will draw the envy of nearby tailgaters in stadium parking lots across America.'

The Canyon's Wi-Fi hotspot isn't the only way an OnStar connection can benefit owners. Using the RemoteLink smartphone app, users can start and stop or lock and unlock a vehicle, ideal for keeping a set of tickets locked away for late arrivers. Two quick phone commands could unlock and re-lock the vehicle. These RemoteLink Key Fob Services are included for five years at no additional charge with the purchase of a 2015 GMC.
