1996 Nissan 300ZX

The Nissan 300ZX was sold in Japan from 1983 to 2001 and in the United States from 1984 through 1996. The first generation 'Z31' of the 300ZX lasted from 1983 through 1989 and was a mid-priced model. The second generation 'Z32' was much higher priced than its predecessor, but offered more power, was more advanced, and more capable. During its production lifespan, which lasted from 1989 through 2000, over 100,000 examples were produced. Internally dubbed the Z32, it had much more rounded bodywork, and could be purchased with either naturally aspirated or twin-turbocharged engines. The twin-turbocharged version produced 300 horsepower and could race from zero-to-sixty mph in 5.6 seconds. Top speed was electronically limited to 155 mph. The final year of production for the model in North America was in 1996, while production continued in Japan until 2000.

Like the prior generations, bodystyles included a 4 seater (2+2) model with the Z32 and model had T-tops as standard equipment. Hardtop models were rarer, all of which were 2 seaters (2+0). A 2 seater aftermarket conversion convertible, produced by ASC, was introduced in 1992.

During the 1995 and 1996 model year, the Steve Millen Motorsports (Stillen), developed a SMZ model with Nissan North America which were sold throughout Canada and the United States at designated Nissan dealerships. The upgrades were covered by the factory warrant. A total of 104 examples were produced for $14,000 above the standard Nissan Z32 Twin Turbo.
