Goodwood, September 18, 2014: Last weekends sell-out 2014 Goodwood Revival saw key event partner Credit Suisse engaging with the media, competitors, VIP guests and Revival spectators with a series of entertaining, informative and interactive activities.

These began on Friday, September 12 with Credit Suisse opening the doors to its restored Race Control building at the Motor Circuit to VIP guests and Goodwood-accredited media. Two light-hearted and informal fireside chats were held in the Race Control garden, with Credit Suisse ambassadors Jochen Mass and Alain de Cadenet discussing historic motor racing, and what the growing interest in the sport had done for the drivers and cars. Leading classic car expert Adolfo Orsi also gave an insightful update on the current status of the classic car market and auction scene.

On Saturday morning, Credit Suisses latest classic car friend Derek Bell MBE was joined by fellow Credit Suisse ambassadors Alain de Cadenet and Jochen Mass, along with Mr Goodwood himself, Sir Stirling Moss OBE, to discuss the theme of The Dream Team in the 5th Credit Suisse Historic Racing Forum, moderated by motor racing authority Henry Hope-Frost. A surprise fifth Forum panelist was current Formula 1 Grand Prix driver Max Chilton, whose younger views made for an interesting contrast with the older, more experienced racers.

After a fascinating and often amusing 45-minute debate about creating the ultimate racing team which is available to listen to and download at www.credit-suisse.com/classiccars Henry Hope-Frost asked the Credit Suisse Forum panelists to select their dream team.

Sir Stirling Moss chose Tony Brooks as his ideal driver teammate, with Mercedes as his team to race for the other teams were tatty in my era. He chose Formula 1 as the motor racing discipline to compete in.

Jochen Mass would choose Jackie Ickx as his teammate: It was great as we were both competitive, but had respect for one another, and its ideal when you have very competitive teammates, as long as the team can handle it said Jochen.

Alain de Cadenet would select female drivers for his team, highlighting ex-Indy racer Janet Guthrie and ex-Grand Prix driver Desire Wilson in particular. He would use the talented racing engineer Gordon Murray to design the chassis of a Le Mans endurance racer, mated to a Porsche flat-six turbo gearbox, and have Rob Walker manage his dream team.

Max Chilton said Id love to go back in time with one of the past greats, the likes of Sir Stirling Moss or Sir Jackie Stewart. Max would choose Formula 1 as his preferred racing discipline.

Derek Bell didnt settle on his dream team, but did say that it wouldnt be the female drivers that Alain has chosen!

On Sunday, September 14, the 10th anniversary of the Credit Suisse Classic Car Program was marked with a surprise moment, consisting of a girl in 1950s swimwear leaping out of a giant birthday cake, as a capella singers sang Happy Birthday to You, joined by Lord March and driver guests, plus many Revival spectators, who then enjoyed a slice of a huge Credit Suisse birthday cake.

Lord March was also on hand to award the winners trophy to Matt Jacques, the winning photographer for last years Credit Suisse Photo Contest at the 2013 Goodwood Revival. The deadline for submissions for this years Photo Contest at the Goodwood Revival is Friday, October 17 for Goodwood-accredited press only and entries should be sent to photos@influenceassociates.com. Prizes will be given for the best image submitted for each of the Photo Contest categories at Goodwood, with a perpetual trophy also being awarded to the overall winner.

The three Photo Contest categories for the 2014 Goodwood Revival are:

◾Action

◾Atmosphere (including paddocks)

◾Credit Suisse Media Moments (Forum, birthday cake, fireside chats, etc.)

A display of three 1950s rally cars, as driven in the famous 1954 Rallye Fminin from Paris to Saint Raphal, concluded Credit Suisses activities at last weekends Goodwood Revival, with the cars and supporting female rally drivers acting as the perfect backdrop for a popular photo booth for the Revival spectators to have their photographs taken.
