For 1987, Jaguar added the XJ-SC two-seat cabriolet to the V-12 coupe. It had removable Targa roof panels and a manually-operated folding rear-quarter top. The cabriolets included full rear luggage-area carpeting and two locking storage bins. They had a removable hardtop section with heated rear glass, which could be mounted in place of the folding soft top. A three-speed automatic gearbox was mated to the 326 cubic-inch V12 engine. There were very few changes to the coupe, except that it gained manual override to the climate-control system.
