2001 BMW 7-Series

For 2001, the BMW 7-Series was powered by either a 268 cubic-inch V8 or a 328 cubic-inch V12. The 268 dual overhead cam offered 280 horsepower while the single-overhead-cam 328 CID delivered nearly 330 horsepower. New this year was a cell phone which became standard on all 7-Series models. Run-flat 17-inch tires were now a no-cost option, and were standard on two new models.

Pricing began at $63,550 for the 740i and over $125,000 for the 750il Protection luxury sedan. The Protection model featured armoring with Aramide, bullet-resistant glass, and run-flat tires.
