1924 Ford Mercury Speedster 1924 Ford Mercury Speedster 1924 Ford Mercury Speedster The Mercury Body Corporation began building bodies for Ford Model Ts in Louisville, KY, in 1921. From 1921 through 1926, just over 1,600 were manufactured. Mercury Body Corp. went bankrupt in 1926. This classy boattail body is a favorite among speedster collectors, as only about 70 are known to exist. This single-door Mercury #416 is fitted on a 1927 Ford Model T chassis. It is equipped with a Rajo 8 overhead valve head, special crankshaft, Winfield carburetor, Bosch high-tension magneto and K.C. Ward transmission.
