2001 Peugeot Vroomster

The Peugeot Vroomster was part of a design competition solicited by Peugeot. It was an open competition with design sketches able to be submitted via Peugeot's website. The Vroomster was a 'toy' to spark creativity.

This is a very unique and creative design. There is seating for two, with the passenger sitting directly behind the driver. The fuel tank is located between the driver's legs. The steering wheel is a handlebar-type design. A large windscreen protects the driver and passenger.

The body is lightweight and strong, constructed from carbon-fibre and foam. Safety is enhanced via the three-point seat belts for both driver and passenger. To enter and exit the vehicle, there is a convenient running board.

Power comes from a twin-cam sixteen-valve engine based on the 206, and produces around 110 horsepower. The car is 3.16 m long, 1.36m high, 1.52m wide, and has a wheelbase of 2.10m.
