Two Iconic Maseratis Featured in Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion Poster

MONTEREY, CALIF., July 16, 2014 — Two of the arguably most iconic Maserati race cars ever constructed served as the inspiration for this year's Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion poster art that was revealed today: The Maserati Tipo 61 and 250F Grand Prix car. Maserati is the featured marque of the historic motorsport gathering which will commemorate its centennial.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca official artist Bill Patterson elegantly combined the two cars into one collage, which was not an easy feat, but he was able to capture their essence of grace, motion and, of course, speed.

Patterson explained, 'That the Tipo 61, which is commonly known as the Birdcage, is such a recognizable sports car from the '60s that was driven by some of the most famous names in motorsports during that period, while the legendary 250F is the pure essence of power and beauty that brought it into international grand prix victory circles time and time again.'

In addition to being featured on the cover of the souvenir magazine, there will be a limited-edition poster available for purchase in the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca souvenir store.

As part of Maserati's anniversary, visitors will have the chance to visit the Maserati heritage display in the race paddock, exploring the company's past, present and future.

The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is one of the cornerstones of the renowned Monterey Classic Car Week and is the largest event held annually in the scenic coastal community. Visitors worldwide descend on the peninsula to enjoy the historic cars in action, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and the myriad of supporting activities that comprise the motoring week.

Advance general admission tickets to the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion are on sale beginning at $50 (Friday) and a three-day ticket at $130, which includes a complimentary souvenir magazine. Children 12 and under are free with a paying adult. Hospitality packages begin at $200 per person.
