This vehicle is in the United States under a 'show or display' exemption and is limited to use of no more than 2,500 miles per year. It must be made available for inspection by NHTSA until the vehicle is not less than 25 years old.The CLK DTM AMG, built on the C209-platform, was built to Bernd Schneider's Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters championship win in 2003. The cars were built to standards similar to those of the race cars but were still able to be driven on the road. Each of the DTM examples, including the 100 coupes and 80 cabriolets, was specially assembled by HWA AG, the engine forge and motorsports division under AMG's corporate umbrella. The supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine delivers 582 horsepower and backed by a Mercedes-Benz SpeedShift 5G-Tronic automatic transmission. Zero-to-sixty mph was accomplished in four seconds on its way to a top speed of 200 mph.
This CLK DTM has a pair of leather and Alcantara-trimmed bucket seats, carbon fiber paneling, and a DTM-inspired steering wheel. It is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic. It was imported into the United States in 2009 via Texas and federalized there by Wallace Environmental Testing Laboratories of Houston. The current owner acquired it around 2015 with roughly 1,500 miles on the odometer. Over the past six years, it has covered approximately 100 miles.
