Technical Highlights
•Revised powertrain layout allows for greater off-road capability
•DYNAMIC SELECT, including new 'G-mode' for G 550: DYNAMIC SELECT is now available with up to five driving modes for the G-Class (Comfort, Sport, Eco, Individual, and G). This feature adjusts the vehicle characteristics in seconds at the touch of a button, as the system modifies the characteristics of the engine, transmission, suspension, steering and assistance systems at the driver's request. One of the prerequisites for the improved off-road handling characteristics is the new 'G-Mode.' The G-Class changes to 'G-Mode' independently of the chosen driving mode as soon as one of the three differential locks has been activated or the LOW RANGE off-road reduction gear has been engaged. This off-road mode adapts the adjustable damping of the chassis and the steering as well as the accelerator characteristic, avoids unnecessary gear shifts and thus ensures optimum control and maximum off-road capability.
•AMG DYNAMIC SELECT for AMG G 63: DYNAMIC SELECT for G 63 has 5 onroad modes (Individual, Comfort, Slippery, Sport, Sport+) and 3 AMG specific off road modes (Sand, Rock, Trail)
•Differential locks: three 100-percent differential locks (center, rear, front) enhance off-road agility and ride comfort
•Independent front suspension: New independent suspension with double-wishbone front axle in combination with a rigid rear axle enhances on-road performance. The raising of the axles also makes a decisive contribution in achieving maximum ground clearance for off-roading.
•Touch Control Buttons are touch-sensitive controls on the steering wheel for easy control of the instrument cluster and multimedia system, similar to a smartphone interface, which responds to vertical and horizontal swiping movements
•New generation of COMAND multimedia system with available dual 12.3' high-resolution displays with single bonded glass panel

Model Positioning
•The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is the original Mercedes-Benz SÚV with a rich history. Long considered a design icon, the luxury off-road vehicle continues to be hand-assembled in Graz, Austria with its proving grounds nearby on the Schöckl Mountain. The new generation has been further improved on-road and off with a new suspension, transmission, DYNAMIC SELECT driving models – including the new 'G-Mode' for the G 550 -- and the three 100% differential locks that improve comfort and agility on any surface.
•The redesigned Mercedes-AMG G63 has undergone the greatest change in its history - while remaining true to its well-proven virtues. With an AMG developed suspension, chassis and engine, the G63 represents the ultimate in on-road and off-road performance.
