2005 Porsche RS Spyder

The Porsche RS Spyder, which made its victorious debut at the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) race in October at Laguna Seca Raceway, makes its second public appearance. This time in Detroit as part of the Porsche display at this year's North American International Auto Show.

Starting with the Twelve Hours of Sebring on March 18, two of the new Porsche prototypes will be exclusively fielded by Penske Motorsports for the entire 2006 ALMS season. The driver lineup that will pilot the RS Spyder with the race numbers '6' and '7' consists of six Porsche factory drivers. Sascha Maassen and Lucas Luhr, who drove the RS Spyder to its inaugural LMP2 class victory at Laguna Seca in Octorber, and Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas will be the season-long team drivers. For the races requiring three drivers, Emmanuel Collard and Patrick Long will join the regulars.
