The Rover P5, also known as the 3- or 3.5-liter engine, was produced from 1958 through 1973. The Rover was well known for its elegance and style both inside and out. Government officials in the United Kingdom often chose this luxurious vehicle as their means of transportation.

During its production lifespan, there were the Mark I, Mark II, Mark III, and P5B versions. The P5 Mark I was powered by a six-cylinder 3-liter engine. Power was sent to the rear wheels through an automatic gearbox. Disc brakes were placed on the front while the rear was given drums.

The Mark Ii was introduced in 1962. A more powerful 3-liter engine was installed and horsepower rose to nearly 130. A coupe body style was the big news.

In 1965 the Mark III was introduced. The vehicle was available in either a saloon, coupe, and 4-door variants. Horsepower rose to 134.

In 1967 the P5B was introduced. The size of the engine was enlarged to 3.5 liters. The 'B' was from Buick, the originator of the engine.
