The Prophet CanAm racer was based on the 1973 Formula 5000 Lola T330 design. It was raced during the 1978 and 1979 seasons accounting for two wins. The main sponsor was Ampex Cassettes. Drivers in this vehicle include racing greats such as Bobby Rahal and Rick Bell. Rahal was able to finish 3rd at Brainerd, 2nd at Trois-Rivieres, 2nd at Riverside, and 1st place at Laguna Seca in a Prophet during the 1979 season. He returned again in 1980 for CanAm competition in the Prophet Chevrolet. His best finish this year was a third-place finish at Golden State, Trois-Rivieres, and Road Atlanta.
