This 1931 Ford Gemsa Sprint Car is powered by a Ford Model 'B' Modified engine with Gemsa overhead valves. Joe Gemsa was a master machinist who specialized in modifying four-cylinder engines. His specialties were in designing and building overhead valves and overhead cam units for the Ford Model T, A, and B. During the 1940s and 1950s, Gemsa took to the track as a sprint car driver.
