1929 Stearns-Knight N6-80

Coupe

Stearns-Knight built high-priced, high-quality automobiles powered with the Knight sleeve valve engine. The F.B. Stearns and Company started building automobiles in 1901 after three years of experimenting in Frank Stearns' basement machine shop. The Cleveland, Ohio-based company would remain in production until 1929.

Stearns was the first auto builder in the United States to license the Knight design engine in1 1911 and afterward was known as the Stearns-Knight Company. John North Willys purchased the company in 1925 and became the ultra-luxury component of his Willys-Overland empire.

This Stearns Knight N6-80 is powered by a 255 cubic-inch six-cylinder sleeve-valve engine that delivers 70 horsepower. The wheelbase measures 134 inches and originally sold for $2645.
