The Super Aguri's Formula One entry for 2006 was the SA05 and the SA06. The SA06 was used during the latter part of the season and was driven by Takuma Sato and rookie Sako Yamamoto. The SA06 was a development of the SA05, which in turn was a development of the Arrows A23 chassis from 2002. The SA06 was given revised aerodynamics, suspension, and a new quick-shift gearbox. The colors were changed slightly, having new livery and more red.
The car driven by Sato finished 10th out of 16 finishers at the Brazilian grand Prix.
The car was used for some of the 2007 season, along side its replacement, the SA07.
After the Super Aguri financial collapse and withdrawal from Formula One in 2008, an SA06 chassis was sold to a Japanese buyer who purchased it at auction.
