1936 Ford Aerocoupe

Aerocoupe

The 'Aerocoupe' is a highly modified 1936 Ford inspired by air-craft of the 1930s. The overall profile was altered by moving the cab back in relation to the wheelbase, which means less trunk and more hood. It rides on a Moal chassis with fully independent torsion bar suspension that sues a DeDion design in the rear with inboard Buick drums.

Several different configurations of the car are possible, thanks to removable bodywork. Mike Moal, the coachbuilder, explained the removable/interchangeable items consist of a lift-off hardtop with gullwing doors, aluminum tonneau cover, removable aluminum disc wheel covers, removable rear wheel skirts, and a large aluminum rear wing for land speed runs.
