1955 Ferrari 250 GT Speciale

This one-off Pinin Farina-designed Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Speciale was first shown at the 1956 Geneva Auto Salon. Pinin Farina built a small number of Speciales based on the 1953 Europa GT chassis; the Italian design firm and coachbuilder had developed a styling theme that greatly influenced all subsequent Ferraris.

This car was the first Ferrari Berlinetta built by Scaglietti and was bought by the wealthy Ferrari enthusiast Enrico Wax. Other owners included Prince Alessandro Ruspoli, the 'Playboy Prince' of the French Riviera, and Maserati 250F Grand Prix race car driver Gerino Gerini.

Ferrari 0425GT is a very special and unique vehicle that features many one-of-a-kind designs including its recessed headlight trim, large 4-louvre vents the fenders, oval egg-crate grille, and the rear tail fins with lights. The interior is equally unique with a custom dashboard featuring a Jaeger chronometer. On the passenger side, located on the glove box door, is an altimeter and outside temperature gauge.

The car wears a design by Pinin Farina and coachwork by Scaglietti. It was on display at the 1956 Geneva Motor Show, later making its way to the United States. In the late 1980s, it was shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. It would return to Pebble Beach in 2012 where it took part in the Tour d'Elegance. In 2013, it returned to the Pebble Beach Show Field where it won First Place in the Class M-1 (Ferrari Grand Touring class).
