Hundreds of drawings, scale models and eight two-size, that even keeping the basic design concept, we have gradually refined the shape and substance. This was achieved through meticulous attention to detail that has resulted in a continuous and exhausting search for proportion and elegance.

The bi-xenon headlights, a prestigious heritage of the Zonda R and LED daytime running lights are harmoniously integrated into the elliptical shape of the mouth front. The integrated rear bumper diffuser dominated by an elliptical frame that surrounds and enhances the four tailpipes, a symbol of continuity and a characteristic feature of the mark Pagani.

SPINE

The all-new monocoque central Huayra is built in carbon-titanium, with its gull-wing doors that include a good portion of the roof. Pagani Automobili unveiling their first car at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show. Founded by Horacio Pagani, a former employee of Lamborghini, the company set out to build his own supercar in Ferrari's backyard in Modena. Their first model was name the Zonda and quickly proved to be successful in Europe. It was not available in North America, thus missing out on a massive market share. The company's next model, would rectify this problem.

The project was first conceived in 2003, mid-way through the production run of the Zonda. The Zonda had been first designed in the early 1990s, and by the close of its production run, was reaching obsolescence and would require an entirely new car to compete with the next generation of supercars. The result was the Huayra. In similar fashion to the Zonda, the Huayra's engine was sourced from Mercedes-Benz; unlike the Zonda, Pagani chose to utilize turbochargers. The engine was capable of producing 720 horsepower and 1,000 Newton-meters of torque. It had active aerodynamics in the form of four independently operating flaps placed on each corner of the car. Controlled by the car's computer, these flaps can instantly adjust to reduce drag, offer additional downforce, or rein in body roll depending on the car's speed, lateral acceleration, steering angle, and throttle position. Zero-to-sixty took a mere 3.0 seconds on its way to a top speed of 238 mph.

The quality and attention to detail continued to its interior. Leather of the highest quality, Alcantara, and carbon fiber give the cabin an equally sporty yet luxurious ambiance.

The Huayra was fully customizable by the customer and had a list price of over $1,000,000.

This particular example is finished in Blue Argentina and matching blue carbon fiber accented with a gold stripe. The interior utilizes cream leather and Alcantara contrasted with blue carbon fiber. It was delivered new to the United States and has been driven less than 400 miles from new. It was delivered with the desirable seven-piece luggage set, taking advantage of all the available storage space in the Huayra for extended journeys.

Just 100 examples are slated to be built and all have been spoken for.

Pagani built just 100 Huayra coupes. Power was from a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-12 engine sourced from Mercedes-AMG and was capable of producing 720 brake horsepower and an astonishing 1,000 Newton-meters of torque.

This Pagani is was the first customer car in the United States and the only Huayra finished in Grigio Scuro Opaco. It was delivered to Beverly Hills and has remained there with its original owner since new. The matte dark grey and carbon exterior is complemented by a full beige leather interior that also has a number of carbon fiber and aluminum trim pieces. It also has a seven-piece luggage set which was a $20,000 option, trimmed in beige leather to match the interior.

After its delivery, the car was fitted with Pagani's 'Tempesta' package at a cost of roughly €183,000. The package was available to existing Huayras and offered a number of upgrades to address aerodynamics and weight-savings in an effort to provide even greater performance. The packages offer a completely new underbody for the car, along with a front splitter and rear diffuser. Four-way adjustable Ohlins shock absorbers were also part of package. New 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels made from aeronautic-grade aluminum alloy, were installed. These wheels reduced weight by 1.1 kilogram for the front wheels and 2.5 for the back. Finally, the Tempesta package includes a new exhaust system made completely of titanium, which weighs just seven kilograms, three kilograms lighter than the standard exhaust.

His first production model was the Zonda and it became very successful in Europe. Development of the next car started in 2003, midway through the Zonda's production run. Pagani pushed the design and technology even further, used more advanced technology and components. The car was eventually dubbed the Huayra, after a god of wind of the Quechua peoples of South America (including Pagani's native Argentina).

The engine was once again provided by Mercedes-Benz, this time Pagani fitted them with twin turbochargers to the 6.0-liter V-12, producing 730 BHP and 1,000 Newton-meters of torque. Active aerodynamics included four independently operating flaps placed on each corner of the car. Controlled by the car's computer, these flaps instantly adjust to reduce drag, offer additional downforce, or reduce body roll depending on the car's speed, lateral acceleration, steering angle, and throttle position. Top speed was 238 mph and zero-to-sixty mph was accomplished in 3.0 seconds.

Just 100 examples of these hand-built coupes were built.

This particular example was delivered new to its first and only owner in June 2015 through Miller Motorcars of Greenwich, Connecticut. It was nicknamed 'Scozia.' The owners family Scottish tartan them was used to upholster the seat inserts on the car, with a tan-and-black leather interior with carbon-fiber and brushed-aluminum detailing, plus the Ferrari Grigio Silverstone paintwork, a €16.000 option. The underside of the rear flaps continue the Scottish them with the Scottish flag. The rear badge is fitted with a custom 'Scozia' badge.

Additional leather trim was ordered with the car so the interior can be retrimmed to suite any new owner's desire. A few years after delivery, Pagani offered the 'Tempesta' package to existing Huayra owners to further upgrade the performance of their car. At a cost of $221,739, the upgrade package addressed the car's aerodynamics and helped shed weight. The work included a completely new underbody, along with a new front splitter and rear diffuser. Four-way adjustable Ohlins shock absorbers were fitted as well, along with new wheels - 20-inch at the front and 21-inches at the rear. The wheels were forged from aeronautic-grade aluminum alloy and offered a reduction of weight by 1.1 kg for the front wheels and 2.5 kg for the back wheels while retaining the same structural integrity of the originals. The Tempesta package also included a new exhaust system made completely of titanium, weighing just 7 kg, 3 kg lighter than the standard unit.

This Pagani is believed to be the last example to be given the gull-wing door configuration. It is also believed that around 30 to 40 examples of the 100 total production came to the United States. Currently it has just 1,460 miles on the odometer.

On top, the new titanium exhaust system generates a thrilling melody and it weighs just 7 kilos, 3 kilos lighter than the standard on the Huayra Coupe, which is already one of the lightest in its segment.

The car was recently fitted with a carbon-fiber air scoop and a carbon-fiber spoiler with aluminum supports. it also benefits from the Pagani L.E.O. platform upgrade and the Pagani Puro program certification.

The Huayra Coupe and Coupe BC deserve a special place in the collector's garage being the only Pagani to feature gullwing doors.
