Coupe
An original design, the Superlite SLC has an all-aluminum monocoque chassis wrapped in a composite body. This 'R' model is powered by a GM-sourced LS7, with a dry sump, forged pistons, and custom intake and exhaust. The approximately 550 horsepower is sent to the rear wheels via a Ricardo 6-speed transaxle. The car is geared for a maximum speed of 263 MPH at redline in 6th. It still achieves around 30 MPG on the highway when driven in a way that satisfies law enforcement!
The SLC-R weighs less than a Miata for a formidable power-to-weight ratio.
Though based on the iconic Group C cars of the 1980s and 1990s, this SLC-R has a street focus, with a bespoke interior constructed of leather and alcantara, as well as a wireless network that allows the car to be controlled from a tablet or smartphone. The tablet in the center stack allows for infotainment, as well as connectivity to the OBDII system via Bluetooth.
The Superlite SLC won the NASA Super Unlimited class National Championship in 2011, in its first year of racing, setting lap records at every track it visited that year, on the way to the championship.
