1961 Huffaker Genie MK.4

Sportscar

Joe Huffaker Sr. designed, engineered, and manufactured race cars while working for Kjell Qvale, the 'west coast Max Hoffman' who at one stage imported virtually every European brand starting soon after World War II. The Genie was one of the first mid-engine sports racing cars, preceding both McLaren and Lola. The MKIV - targeted at SCCA G-Modified - was a tube frame design suitable for a small 4-cylinder.

This car is running its original chassis and motor, an Alfa Romeo 1300 twin-cam. It sat for nearly 4 decades until 2011 before being restored with oversight from Joe Huffaker Sr. and Jr. The owner originally drove for the Huffaker team in the 1970s and now is back in the cockpit of this vehicle.
