1969 Bizzarrini GT1900 Europa

Coupe

The Bizzarrini GT1900 Europa was introduced in the hope of transforming Bizzarrini into a volume manufacturer. The Europa was built with many General Motors parts as well as an economical and robust Opel 1900cc engine. The fiberglass body was designed by Bizzarrini's in-house designer Pietro Vanni. Bizzarrini hoped the car would compete with established sports cars from Alfa Romeo and Lancia, and when the new 'baby' Bizzarrini was first shown at the 1966 Turin Motor Show it received very good reviews. Its body looked like a scaled-down version of the bigger and much more expensive Strada. Despite the good press, financial issues crippled the company in 1969 and only 12 Europas were delivered by the factory, including one Spyder.

This car was first registered in Belgium but has been with its current owner for the last 30 years.
