Ford C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energi continue to excite for 2017 with redesigned grille openings, headlamps and taillamps. An all-new Titanium edition debuts for both the hybrid and plug-in hybrid. The new model year also brings a fresh color choice – White Gold.

The all-new Titanium series includes 17-inch machined-aluminum wheels with high-contrast painted pockets, leather-trimmed seats and 10-way power passenger seat with lumbar support. Ford's hands-free, foot-activated liftgate, which allows quick and easy access to the cargo area, is available.

C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energi SE trim series vehicles get standard Ebony with chrome-surround grille and 17-inch painted bright silver-finish alloy wheels.

A gas engine and battery-driven electric motor combine to provide power for both C-MAX hybrid models. When powered by gasoline, the vehicles use a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder. The electric motors are powered by lithium-ion battery systems designed to maximize use of common, high-quality components, such as the control board hardware that has proven field performance.

With C-MAX Hybrid, the lithium-ion battery is recharged when the gasoline engine is in operation. Further, regenerative braking can recapture more than 90 percent of the braking energy that would otherwise be lost, using that power to help charge the battery. C-MAX Energi can also be charged by connecting the vehicle's external charge port to either a standard 120-volt outlet or an available 240-volt station.

C-MAX comes equipped with SmartGauge® with EcoGuide – an information system allowing drivers to see fuel economy readings on the instrument panel. It enables motorists to monitor their driving behavior to better understand how it affects vehicle efficiency. A brake coach feature helps drivers choose good braking techniques to optimize the regenerative braking. Imagery of green leaves gives the driver information about overall driving efficiency. 

MyFord® Mobile – a smartphone app that allows users to monitor charging, find charge stations, receive alerts, plan trips and do more from their smartphone or computer – is available for C-MAX Energi as well. Standard MyKey® allows parents to choose from multiple top speed limits and to block explicit satellite radio programming. It also issues an audible warning to remind front occupants to buckle up.

Available SYNC® 3 features high-speed performance, an easy-to-use smartphone-like touch screen and clean graphical interface. It offers multiple ways for owners to manage and control their phone, navigation and entertainment functions through voice commands, steering wheel controls, touch screens, buttons or knobs. For C-MAX Energi, the system offers battery charge and charge point distance information as well.
