1911 Pratt-Elkhart Model 11

Fore-Door Touring

The Pratt-Elkhart was offered in just one model in 1911, the Model 'F'. It was available in four body styles and rode on a 117-inch wheelbase. The Pratt-Elkhart Model 'F' utilizes a Waukesha four-cylinder engine rated at 35 horsepower. It was priced at $1,750.

The Elkhart Carriage & Harness Manufacturing Company was founded in 1874 by F.B. Pratt and was Elkhart's most prominent vehicle manufacturer. It introduced its first automobile in 1909 under the brand name 'Pratt Elkhart.' Unlike many of its competitors, the Elkhart Carriage & Harness Manufacturing Company had the capability to design and construct its own bodies and not rely upon an outside supplier. The quality of its coachwork was well known, as several other automobile makers contracted the Elkhart Carriage & Harness Manufacturing Company to supply bodies.

The 'Elkhart' part of the name was dropped in 1912, and the brand was dropped entirely in 1915. The company was reorganized that year under the new name, the Elkhart Carriage & Motor Car Company, and built ambulance bodies for the United States Army in World War I.
