The BMW X Coupe Concept is based on the platform of the BMW X5 SUV. Power is from a 3.0-liter Diesel engine that offers 193 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four-wheels via a five-speed Steptronic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
Features to this vehicle include headlights that swivel to match steering input and variable intensity braking lights which indicate how hard the driver of the X Coupe is braking.
The design using a new term called 'Flame Surfacing.' BMW states that the form of the coupe is reminiscent of energetic flames, such as those that burn of gas under pressure.
