The Mazda Luce RX 87 R130 was produced from October of 1969 to 1972, with 976 examples built. The styling was by Giorgetto Giugiaro, who was working for Bertone. Power was from a rotary 1.3-liter 13A engine offering 126 horsepower and powering the front wheels. These were the only Mazda's with rotary engines to power the front wheels.
The Mazda R130 was exclusively for the Japanese market, and color choices were either yellow or white, often with a black vinyl top.
