Mazda introduced the MX Sport Runabout at the 2002 Geneva Motor Show as a stylistic preview for the second-generation Mazda2. It combined distinctive design with exceptional functionality, an athletic persona with an innovative interior, and outstanding performance with exceptional quality levels uncommon in its market segment.
Although the five-door MX Sport Runabout had compact overall dimensions, it delivered maximum space and flexibility, enhanced by a large glass area and a body height of 1,550mm. The wheelbase measured 2,500mm and a width of 1,720mm.
Except for a few minor unique design features, such as the front fascia, this concept could have passed for a production car.
