S2 Coupe
Chassis number: WP0AA0947KN451150
The Porsche was in production from 1982 through 1991 on the same platform as the 924. It shared the 924's profile and front-engine layout. Production of the 944 was intended to last into the 1990s, however major revisions planned for a 944 S3 model were later rolled into the 968 instead which replaced the 944.
The Porsche 944 was given significant changes in mid-1985, which included a new dashboard together with new door panels, embedded radio antenna as well as some mechanical changes. It had a larger fuel tank, optional heated and power seats, Porsche Hi-Fi sound system and revisions in the mounting of the transaxle to reduce noise and vibration.
In 1989, the S2 was introduced with their new generation 3.0 litre 16 valve twin-cam engine offering 211 horsepower. The 944 S2 also received a revised and uprated transmission with better gearing and an integrated front bumper. With the increase in horsepower, the zero-to-sixty mph time was improved to 6.5 seconds and had a top speed of 150 mph.
This particular example was originally sold on July 15th of 1989 by Fred Baker Import Cars in Bedford, Ohio. The second owner purchased the car on October 12 of 2001. It is believed that just two owners have owned this car since new. Currently it has just 77,287 miles on the odometer. Power is from a 2.7-liter, inline-4 cylinder engine offering 162 horsepower backed by a 5-speed manual transmission. The car is painted in Code LM1U Linen metallic paint with a Code 1DR Black interior. Except for the front bumper, the original paint is intact. It has a removable sunroof, leather front seats, original dash with no cracks, air conditioning, cruise control, alarm system, and ABS brakes. It rides on 17-inch Turbo Twist wheels.
