2005 Sivax Streetster Xtile

After the release of the Streetster Kira in 2002, Sivax returned to the Paris Motorshow in 2004 with the Streetster Xtile. Like the 2002 concept, the Xtile was a collaboration of the company's Yokohama (Japan) and Paris (France) design studios. An inspiration for the Xtile was the world of anime (animated film), which is hugely popular in Japan.

Two of the roadster's most striking features are the double axis doors and the extended center console. Stretching from the dashboard to the rear bulkhead, the centre console gives the driver a real cockpit like experience. Aluminum was used throughout the car, both for the frame and many trim details, which works well with the metallic red finish and blue interior of the car.

XTILE, a second Streetster series after KIRA, signifies 'the creation of a new kind of style beyond existing paradigms through the blending of multiple phenomena'. XTILE embodies a bold undertaking toward a new design language.

XTILE is pursuing the real sports car package as hardware, using the concept of Japanimation (Japanese animation) that is receiving worldwide attention, in an attempt to design a sports car that becomes full of charm as a surrealistic character.

DESIGN

XTILE has a novel individual form. It is the interminglement of the front and back body; the exterior and interior; of mechanical detail and sensitive form with the new system 'Double Axis Door'.

Extending from the rear into the cockpit, the center bar functions the way a spinal column controls a central nervous system. By centralizing manual and electronic driving commands, it enables the driver to feel completely at one with machine.
