1958 Buick Series 75 Roadmaster

The Buick Roadmaster was built from 1936 to 1958, and from 1991 to 1996. From 1946 through 1957, the Roadmaster was the company's top-of-the-line model. In 1958, it was above the Special, Century, and Roadmaster, but below the extra-long luxury 700 Series line. The Super, Roadmaster, and Limited shared the same 127.5-inch wheelbase, although the 227.1-inch length of the Limited was longer than the 219.1-inches of the other Super and Roadmaster.

All 1958 Buick engines were powered by a 364 cubic-inch V8 with overhead valves, five main bearings, and hydraulic valve lifters. While the Special used a Carter two-barrel carburetor, the other models had a four-barrel carburetor with a compression ratio of 10.0:1. The two-barrel engine delivered 250 horsepower and the four-barrel version had 300 horsepower at 4,600 RPM.

The body styles of the Roadmaster and Limited included a two-door and four-door hardtop (the same as on the Super), and a convertible coupe. The two-door hardtop Super was priced at $3,645, the two-door Roadmaster listed at $4,560, and the Limited at $5,000. The four-door Super sold for $3,790, the Roadmaster at $4,670, and the Limited at $5,100. The Roadmaster convertible coupe had a factory base price of $4,680 and comparable Limited at $5,125.

The Roadmaster had similar trim and brightwork as the Super plus bright wheelhouse moldings, ribbed inserts to the rear fender flashes, and different rocker panel molding. The Roadmaster name in block letters was placed on the rear deck beneath a Buick emblem. Series 75 script and numerals were on the fender flashes.
