The 1982 Fiat Spider 2000 was powered by a dual-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine capable of producing 102 (SAE) horsepower. It had a five-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive. A three-speed automatic gearbox was available. Disc brakes were in the front and the rear. Fiat offered the Spider with an optional 1995cc turbocharged engine delivering 120 horsepower.
