Suzuki GB PLC has celebrated the graduation of 21 young apprentices, who have, this year, successfully completed its Advanced Apprenticeship Programme (AAP). The annual ceremony, which took place at the Donington Park motor racing circuit in Leicestershire, saw the trainee technicians and aftersales parts consultants from within Suzuki's UK automobile, motorcycle and ATV retail networks, collect their Apprenticeship Completion Certificate and NVQ/VCQ Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship Award from Nobuo Suyama, Managing Director and Denis Houston, Director of Aftersales at Suzuki GB.

The practical hands-on Advanced Apprenticeship Programme takes place over three years for Automobile, Motorcycle and ATV Technicians, and over 24 months for Aftersales Parts Consultants. During the practical, hands-on learning initiative, the participants from across the country, are rewarded with mentoring and full-time employment at a Suzuki dealership that has also committed to paying for their apprentice's training and qualifications. Amongst many other benefits, individuals equally receive one week of tuition every two months at Suzuki's state-of-the-art training facility in Doncaster (South Yorkshire), as well as a fully structured career path.

Denis Houston, Director of Aftersales for Suzuki GB said: 'We are now in the 13th year of the Advanced Apprenticeship Programme which has seen 286 very talented youngsters successfully complete the scheme since its debut in 2003, which is a remarkable achievement. The graduates have once again been of an exceptionally high calibre, and have each put in hours of hard work alongside a busy job to gain these qualifications. This is a solid foundation for which to build their careers, and they are already proving to be valuable assets within the nationwide Suzuki retail network.'
