The front headlights extended into wraparound side markers and in the back of the car, the large wraparound tail-lamp theme continued. The Delta 88 was available as a coupe or a sedan in several flavors including a Royale and Royale Brougham version. Standard power was a 231 cubic-inch V6 with option 4.3-liter V8, 5-liter or 5.7-liter diesel. The six-cylinder power-plant delivered 110 horsepower and offered 190 foot-pounds of torque. The highest-rated engine in the lineup for the Delta 88 was the 5-liter V8, offering 140 horsepower and 240 foot-pounds of torque. The standard transmission was a three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic.
