1975 Pontiac Grand LeMans

The Pontiac Grand LeMans was a luxury vehicle that was available as a 4-door hardtop, 2-door hardtop, and a 6- or 9-passenger station wagon. Power was from an eight-cylinder engine and standard equipment included a stand-up hood ornament and fender skirts. Previously called the Luxury LeMans, the 1975 Grand LeMans received a unique grille design with six separate groups of vertical blades arranged three on each side of the center, pointed divider. Design features included fender skirts and stand-up hood ornaments.

The most popular body style was the 2-door hardtop which had a base price of $4,100 and found 19,310 willing buyers. 4,906 examples of the 4-door hardtop sedan were sold. The body styles were based on GM's Colonnade design for both sedans and coupes that incorporated center pillars for improved rollover safety, along with frameless windows similar to a hardtop. The interiors featured a distinctive wrap-around dashboard from the Grand Am and Grand Prix models with simulated African Crossfire Mahogany trim. Sedans and wagons had a notchback bench seat with armrest, or a no-cost choice of the notchback bench or Strato bucket seats in coupes.

The 455 V8 was discontinued for all LeMans models for 1975, but still available in the Grand Am. Engines were backed by a standard three-speed manual unit with the six-cylinder cars and 350 two-barrel V8s, with the three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic optional with those engines. The Safari wagons came standard with the Turbo Hydra-Matic. The Hurst-shifted four-speed manual was no longer offered.

For 1976, the LeMans and Grand Le Mans became Pontiac's only intermediate offerings after the discontinuation of the Grand Am series.
