STEFAN ELLROTT TO BE NEW HEAD OF DEVELOPMENT AT BUGATTI

Molsheim / Wolfsburg, 19 December 2016. With effect from 1 January 2017, Stefan Ellrott is to be the new Head of Development and a Member of the Board of Management of Bugatti. His predecessor Willi Netuschil is retiring at the end of the year.

The President of Bugatti also thanked Willi Netuschil (58), who is retiring, for his achievements. 'Willi Netuschil successfully managed the development of our current super sports car, the Chiron1, and has done an outstanding job with his team. The Chiron is the new benchmark in the super sports car segment. With its wide variety of technical innovations, this exceptional model sets new standards in every respect. Willi Netuschil could not have left us with a more impressive business card. We wish him health and happiness in this new phase of his life.'

Willi Netuschil had been Head of Development at Bugatti since September 2012. Now he is handing over his responsibilities to Stefan Ellrott, who comes from Overall Vehicle Development at Volkswagen AG. Most recently, he was responsible for prototype management with Technical Development and, from 2013, was Head of the Geometry and Function Department.

Ellrott (48), a mechanical engineer, started his career in vehicle design and development with the Overall Vehicle Development Department of Volkswagen AG in 1996. In 2003, he became Head of Development, Special Models with Volkswagen Individual GmbH / Volkswagen R GmbH, where he was appointed Head of Development four years later. From 2007 to 2011 he was also Deputy Managing Director of the company. From 2010, he was Head of Development with Volkswagen Zubehör GmbH in addition to his other responsibilities. In 2011, Ellrott returned to Overall Vehicle Development with Volkswagen AG.

Ellrott, who was born in Brunswick, studied mechanical engineering at the University of Technology in his home city. He is married and has one daughter and one son.

In his new function, Stefan Ellrott will report directly to Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer.
