1907 Dragon Raceabout Navigation
Leo Melanowski was hired by the Dragon Automobile Company to serve as their engineer and designer. Melanowski had an extensive resume working at many other reputable marques and was an excellent individual to aid in the production of a new automobile. The result of this union was a four-cylinder motorcar that was fitted with a sliding gear transmission and featured shaft drive. Pricing was in the neighborhood of $2,000. A short time later, Melanowski left to help design the Aerocar from Detroit.

View info and historyThe Dragon Automobile Company was formed in the summer of 1960 and would remain in production for a short time, lasting until 1908. There were teething problems, build issues, and an inability to provide the needed support required by demanding customers. After around 250 vehicles were manufactured, the company ceased production. The Dragon plant and its assets were offered at a public auction in early April 1908. All assets were purchased by Gorson Auto Exchange of Philadelphia.
