1965 Causey P6 Special

1965 Causey P6 Special 1965 Causey P6 Special 1965 Causey P6 Special Dave Causey was a race car driver who piloted sports cars including the Maserati Tipo 61 and the Lotus 19 and later drove McLarens and Lolas in CanAm competition.
He also drove several Porsche 911's and 914s. He raced for two decades spanning 1957 through 1977, with a total of 94 races.

The Causey P6 had a similar appearance to an earlier car, the Causey P3. There were three examples of the P3 built and two were powered by a Brian Hart 4-cylinder motor and mated to a Hewland gearbox. The third car, commonly referred to as the P6, was fitted with a Porsche 901 2-liter engine. A Porsche gearbox was used but did not provide flexibility in gear changes, so it was switched to a Hewland unit.

The bodywork is elegant and attractive, having a similar design to the Ferrari 206 Dino and the Ferrari P4.

This is one of only 3 similar cars constructed by Competition Motorsports of Il.
