1927 Dodge Brothers Series 128

The Dodge Brothers Series 128, also known as the Fast Four (and Fastest Four), entered production in July of 1927. A month later, Dodge also began production of the Series 129. The Series 129 was similar to the 128, except it had four wheel steeldraulic brakes instead of the two-wheel mechanicals found on the 128.

The Series 128 was the second new line introduced in late 1928 for the 1929 model year. It was powered by an L-head 212.3 cubic-inch four-cylinder engine that delivered 44 horsepower. It had a three-speed selective sliding gear transmission and rode on wood spoke wheels. They had new lower bodies and rode on a shorter, 108-inch wheelbase. They had vertical hood louvers and new type body moldings. Their appearance was similar to the prior four-cylinder Dodges but were given more rounded rear ends and a slight rework to the A-pillar that merged nicely into the cowl area.

The Series 128 was available with either Standard, Special, and Deluxe trim levels. Standard equipment included a Stewart carburetor, speedometer, ammeter, horn, NorthEast ignition, coincidental lock, rear tire carrier, inside rearview mirror, tool kit and jack, and headlamp dimmer.

Pricing on the Series 128 ranged from the mid-$800s to the mid-$900s.
