Varsha Joins Chief Judge Keith Martin in Presenting All-New 'Magnificent Seven' Program Debut

ATLANTA, Ga., March 21, 2017 – The Atlanta Concours d'Elegance announces famed motorsports announcer Bob Varsha as its 2017 Honoree. Best known for his 25-year tenure covering the Formula One World Championship, Varsha brings global recognition to the Atlanta Concours' weekend-long event. Varsha, who currently resides in Atlanta, is one of the premier television commentators of the automotive world and has appeared on virtually every major network, broadcast and cable station covering popular events such as NASCAR, Indycar and the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as the renowned Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

This year's Atlanta Concours d'Elegance, September 30-October 1st, will bring notoriety, new collections and unique nuances to a field of 150 entrants, as well as debut an all-new program to honor exceptional 'high interest' vehicles that partake in the weekend's 'Driver's at the Chateau' event. Chief Judge Keith Martin and Bob Varsha, will lead a group of acclaimed Concours judges in choosing Saturday's inaugural 'Magnificent Seven' vehicles to participate on the show field in Sunday's Concours d'Elegance within their own special class.

According to Martin, who has been a master of ceremonies and lead judge in numerous highly regarded Concours events throughout the nation for more than a decade, as well as 2016 Honorary Head Judge for the Atlanta Concours, the newly created 'Magnificent Seven' program is the first of its kind, offering a concours role to non-concours-ready vehicles. 'It's a unique opportunity to grow involvement for car aficionados who may not be car collectors in the usual concours-sense but still are enthusiasts that take deep pride in the vehicles they own and restore themselves,' said Martin.

'We'll be looking for seven exceptional vehicles that stand out based on unique attributes and offer those vehicles and their owners the chance to publicly showcase their car within an authentic and highly regarded setting.' Additionally, all attendees of Saturday's event will have the chance to win two General Admissions tickets to the 2018 show by matching their own seven choices prior to those named by the officials.

Martin, Publisher for Sports Car Market magazine and Host of Velocity's 'What's My Car Worth,' will be available throughout the weekend providing roving interviews and personalized valuations for a few selected owners of cars displayed on the show field each day.

Highly specialized collections and prior-award winners will be competing throughout the weekend, including a 1956 Class-winning Austin Healey 100M from Harbor Island, SC, which was the first of 15 original entrants for 2017. Other new competitors include a 1961 Dual Ghia from South Florida; 1920 Cadillac Limousine from Lawrenceville, GA; and numerous European and American Brass Era vehicles. Additional awards for 2017 will include 'Best Pre-War' and 'Best Post-War' vehicles.

Restorations will once again play a role in the 2017 show. One special inclusion will be a 1967 Camaro (survivor), owned and fully restored by Norfolk, VA-artisan Dan Short of FantomWorks – a 52,000 square foot shop known for the highest degree of craftsmanship for classic cars.
